Honeydue Delivers Real-Time Address Validation to Enhance Customer Experience

Financial Services
Website
https://www.honeydue.comHoneydue is a mobile app designed to help couples manage their finances together. As they expanded into financial services with their new Joint Banking product, they needed to meet Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance requirements.
To open an account, users had to enter a legal name and address. But 18% of applications were getting rejected due to unverifiable addresses. Many customers had just moved in together and entered a new address that didn’t yet match USPS records or was missing apartment or suite details.
Without a better process, Honeydue faced an expensive choice: tighten restrictions and reject users or risk compliance errors and manual rework.
Honeydue integrated Lob’s Address Verification API directly into their onboarding flow. As users enter their address, Lob instantly validates it and returns detailed metadata including deliverability status, secondary unit requirements, and residential or commercial designation.
Based on the metadata, Honeydue can:
- Prompt users to add missing apartment or suite numbers
- Display a map to confirm the address visually
- Flag commercial addresses and remind users to match their government ID
This experience helps users fix errors before submission, improving both compliance and confidence.
- Rejection rate from bad addresses dropped from 18%
- More customers complete KYC successfully on the first try
- Reduced time spent chasing users to correct their info
- Improved customer trust with a clean, intuitive experience
Campaign Spotlight:
design-led compliance
Honeydue makes address correction easy through thoughtful design. A map lets users visually confirm the location, while icons help indicate residential or commercial status. By turning verification into a guided step, they empower customers to self-correct and succeed on the first try.
As Honeydue expands, the team plans to extend Lob’s address verification to other workflows like billing address changes and physical mailings. With Lob’s API in place, they can scale confidently without sacrificing compliance, UX, or trust.
