Recognizing Juneteenth

At Lob, we believe that everyone should be treated equally and with respect. Over the past few weeks, we’ve made a commitment as a company to address the racial injustice being witnessed right now, take measurable action, and lead by example.

Starting tomorrow, Lob will be observing June 19th as a permanent company-wide holiday to honor Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteeth asks us to consider the promises of freedom not yet fully realized in the United States. We are asking that our employees use this day to listen, learn, and celebrate a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today.

Since all Lob employees will be observing Juneteenth, you should expect somewhat slower response times on Friday. We kindly ask you to check our Help Center to help answer any questions. While it is always difficult to make decisions that impact our support to customers, we believe it is important to put action behind our commitment to fighting systematic racism, and give our employees the day to reflect on, remember, and recommit to equality and social justice.

We recognize there is still so much we can do to be a driving force for change in society. At Lob, we will continue to engage in conversations with our colleagues and community to take action. It starts with taking time to educate ourselves, having uncomfortable conversations, and demonstrating solidarity for friends and colleagues. There is a long journey ahead, but we are committed to working together to make this moment the turning point for real change.
